To All The Members:

It has come to our attention that some of the stories submitted here in FSS are being copied and posted in another site (www.pinoykwento.com).

Please be aware that Pinoy Kwento is NOT, in any way, affiliated with FSS.

All our affiliates follow a unique pattern wherein only 90% of the post content is available to the readers. The remaining 10% can be accessed by clicking the "Read More" link found at the bottom of each post. Any reader who clicks on that link will be redirected to www.filipinosexstories.com where they need to sign up (for new users) or login (for existing members).

Furthermore, all our affiliates show the stories with their original authors, in the same way as these are posted here in FSS. We do NOT use the byline "admin" on any article that is not written originally by the admin.

To All Our Valued Authors:

We apologize for this inconvenience but as of yet, there is no absolute solution of making your posts non-copiable. Even if we disable the conventional "select-copy-and-paste" feature, a lot of ways can still be done by anyone who wants to plagiarize your literary works.

Thank you for posting your stories here in FSS. We truly value your efforts.

We do hope that these incidents of plagiarism won't affect your enthusiasm in sharing your stories with us.

To everyone, thank you for supporting our site. Your co...

Delving Deeper Into PLAGIARISM

This blog contains commentary on everyday life and love realities, as well as psychosexual/psychosocial issues, and practically everything there is that piques the author's curiosity.

I've been a lurker for quite some time now since I'm really busy with school stuff, causing me to refrain from writing stories. I'm writing this blog because of our virtual community's trending topic on plagiarism. The main goal of this blog is to shed light to the somehow confusing subject about plagiarism. I would like to provide some explanations and clarifications about the said topic.

Our admins and some pioneer members/writers posted numerous blogs which discussed the definition and basics of plagiarism. Because of that, I opted to tackle another area of plagiarism which is its scope and depth. This is brought about by a certain comment which piqued my curiosity. The said comment was posted by Sir Fiction-Factory, and to quote,
"Iba ang kinopya sa ginaya, at kung may ginayang plot, style, terms, construction, etc., ang isang writer, makokonsedera ba na plagiarism ang obra?"
It took me a while to genarate a mental note to myself after I've read the Sir FF's comment since it really is mind-boggling. Indeed, if a literary work is adapted/based/inspired from another author's work in terms of style, terminologies, construction and the likes, can it be considered as a plagiarized piece?

Posting An Old Story/Repost

First, we have to take into account that some stories have copyright and we don't want FSS to be a party in any publication of those stories. Plagiarism ang tawag dito.

Ano nga ba ang Plagiarism? As per Wikipedia:

'Is the wrongful appropriation and stealing and publication of another author's "language, thoughts, ideas, or expressions" and the representation of them as one's own original work.'

Also,

'Plagiarism is not a crime per se but in academia and industry, it is a serious ethical offense, and cases of plagiarism can constitute copyright infringement.'

Second, we encourage writers to post original stories kung saan ay maipagmamalaki nila bilang "obra maestra".

Panghuli ay nais natin na makilala ang FSS na may mga original stories na mababasa at hindi mga repost o lumang kuwento lamang.

Therefore, as a rule:

Although we discourage reposting of stories, ONLY the original author has the right to repost his/her own work to avoid issues and future legal problems....
