Ironic Affections

You've been my friend

You lent your hands

You told me words and compliments

You rouse my hopes

Whenever I pretend

That I'm okay

And I am well

I looked up to you

Relied on you

Grew affections towards you

And I thought it was fine

It was okay

But then you've change

You went away

And I am wrong

It's not fine

It wasn't okay

For my feelings pushed you away

How ironic

Because you told me it was okay

That you won't slip away

But then you're sorry

For I can't make you stay....

Sometimes I'm lonely
Sometimes I'm euphoric
Sometimes I'm dismissive
Sometimes I'm nostalgic

Sometimes I'm cool
Sometimes I'm moody
Sometimes I'm bleak
Sometimes I'm dreamy

Sometimes I'm spontaneous
Sometimes I'm indecisive
Sometimes I'm cautious
Sometimes I'm impulsive

Sometimes I hate myself
For making such petty mistake
Sometimes I save face
For my own sake

Sometimes I wonder
Why I feel this way
Sometimes I'm terrified
Of what others might say

And what if these "sometimes"
Turn into "oftentimes" I asked,
Laughing, I told myself,
"Emotions shouldn't be masked."
