Hey there! I previously posted this story on another site under another username. Hope you guys like it. :)
"She makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up."
My phone was ringing. It was my mom.
"Hi, Ma, what's up?"
"Mike, are you busy tonight?" mom asked.
"Um, not really, just planning to go online and play some basketball."
"You know, you've been spending too much time on your PS3. James says your Meralco bill is up from last month."
"That's because James opens the aircon at 6:00 PM and closes it at 7:30 AM. Plus, he spends most of his time here in front of the PC." I answered.
"We gave you and your brother that condo so you can learn to be responsible and since you're older, you should lay down the ground rules. Besides, James needs the computer for his studies."
Mom was right. I have been too lax with James. Mental note: Talk to James.
"Ok, I'll have a chat with him. Anyway, what's happening tonight?"
"Katkat, as you know, has been in Manila for a week now but hasn't gone out to enjoy herself. I'd ask James but he has a retreat in Antipolo. If you remember, your Tita baby was the one who drove us around when we were in San Diego last year. We should return the favor and take her daughter out while she's here."
Hmm... Online NBA 2K13 or a few drinks with the cousin I last saw when I was seven? Meh, why not? I haven't done a good deed in a while anyway.
"Okay, I know a club that plays non-stop RnB during Thursdays. I'll take her there. Where is she now?"
"Your dad and I will pick her up from High Street and drop her off at your place so make sure it's clean!"
My eyes fell on the pizza box still on the table. Four Cheese is the way to go! Yum.
"Oh, it's clean here, mom." I lied.
"Good. We should be there by nine. Love you, anak. Thanks!"
"Love you too, mom. Bye!"
I stood up, took the remaining pizza slices and put them in a tupperware. I crumpled the pizza box and stuffed it in the trash can. There. Clean. I just hope mom doesn't go down from the car. I wiped some crumbs off the table and went for a shower.
The doorbell rang just as I was looking at my watch. 8:58 PM. Mom, as always, was on time. I stood up, straightened my polo and opened the door.
"Hey, Kuya! I Almost rang the doorbell next door! Hahaha! How are you?"
Whoa. This wasn't the Katkat I remembered. Where were the pigtails and the braces? I smiled as I admired her for a second, hopefully not being too obvious. She was wearing a sleeveless black dress, matching black sandals and white pearl earrings. She had light brown streaks on her hair and, judging by the tan lines on her shoulders, I knew she had already tested some of our beaches. She was a bit big and by big, I mean that in a "sexy Queen Latifah body packed in a 5'3 frame" kind of way.
Curvy. Voluptuous. There.
"Oh my God, kuya! Katkat's so 90's! Call me Kathy, please!" she said as she stepped inside the unit and gave me a hug.
As I hugged her, I felt her boobs flatten against my chest. 36 or 38C's, I reckon. I could smell the freshly sprayed Polo Sport on her neck.
"Polo Sport. Classic. And stop calling me kuya, Mike's fine. I think I'm just older by a year." I said after we separated. "I just need to turn off the aircon and we can go already."
Okay, so I open the aircon early too sometimes so shoot me.
I grabbed my keys and led her out.
"Wow, I can't believe so much has changed since we left. I mean, look at you! It was like yesterday when we played 'agawan base' with the others. Now, you're probably breaking hearts left and right! Hahaha! she said as she put on her seat belt.
I laughed as I looked at the side mirror by her seat. my eyes couldn't help but glance at her tan legs. I shook my head and returned my gaze to the road.
"Nah, I actually just broke up with my girlfriend, well, ex-girlfriend, whatever so I'm just enjoying myself now."
"Sorry to hear that. When did you break up?"
"Three years ago." I answered with a sheepish grin.
She laughed, "Oh my God, in the US, you could've had a replacement in a week!"
"Is that right? Well, I'm not seeing anyone right now. I have work and friends to keep me preoccupied. Besides, I want the next one to last."
"Aw, you're sweet. My girlfriends would love to have someone like you. I know I would." she said as she patted my arm.
I looked at her and smiled while my pants seemed to get tighter. She gave a short smile and faced the window, getting lost in thought.
Awkward silence number one, I thought. I opened the radio to brea... Read More
